Only a licensed practitioner can assess a patient, make a clinical determination, and issue a signed housing letter. The clinical evaluation determines eligibility; approval is not guaranteed. Under current US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines, Emotional Support Animals are recognized as assistance animals under the Fair Housing Act (FHA) for residential housing. Under Department of Transportation regulations effective January 2021, ESAs are no longer treated as service animals on commercial airlines, and they do not possess public access rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for shops, restaurants, or hotels. Fetch My ESAdoes not sell “registrations,” “certificates,” vests, or ID cards, which do not hold legal weight under federal housing law.
